Description
I served as a research collaborator on the project “RECOVER: InterpREtación automática multilingüe para casos COVID-19 en los sERvicios de urgencias”. The project aimed to provide a solution to the interlinguistic and intercultural communication problems arising from the global health crisis caused by COVID-19.
    

VIP II Project

Description
I contributed to the research project “Multi-lingual and Multi-domain Adaptation for the Optimisation of the VIP system (VIP II)” as a member of the project team. Its predecessor, the VIP system or VIP1, represented a new-generation of interpreting- related technologies that is based in interdisciplinary cutting-edge research. The VIP II Project had the following research aims: (i) improve VIP1 to better accommodate the needs and requirements of interpreters (professional and trainees); and (ii) establish the feasibility and impact of achieving automation in real interpreting scenarios.

Description
I took part in the research initiative “Multilingual dialogue systems using neural networks for apps in the healthcare domain: the triage (Spanish-English/Arabic)”. The ultimate goal of the project was the development of a multilingual system to automate triage. The system was based on multilingual dialogical models and multimodal neural automatic translation (speech-text-speech).
