At the very beginning of my project (October 2025), I was invited to the 4th Annual Meeting of the Czech Association of Hispanists by my new colleagues at UPOL. It is a travelling conference that changes its location every year. The host institution in 2025 was the Technical University of Liberec (TUL), in northern Czechia.

My presentation was titled “El proyecto NAIMES: evaluación humana de un corpus de traducciones checo > español generado por IA”. It was an introductory showcase of the projected goals and stages of NAIMES. As the audience consisted mostly of Czech native speakers, it focused on Czech > Spanish as a non-English-centric language direction with fewer machine translation resources, and on how my project could help fill such gaps.

The timing of this event was fantastic for making my work visible within the scientific community of the MSCA host country, particularly among Czech Hispanists. I also had the opportunity to meet several renowned experts in the Spanish language working in the Czech and Slovak contexts, such as Prof. Miroslav Valeš (TUL), Prof. Markéta Šmídová (UČB), and Prof. Bohdan Ulašin (UK Bratislava).
