CIFRE V: International Colloquium of Romance Philologies for Students

Conference

Date: October 16–17, 2025
Place: Olomouc, Czechia
Just one week after the Hispanists Meeting in October 2025, I was again invited to a similar conference in my own host department (Romance Languages at the UPOL Faculty of Arts).

CIFRE is an international colloquium initiated by a group of PhD students in Olomouc. This event provides a space for MA and PhD students of Romance languages to present their projects and research to their peers. Some postdocs and professors are also invited to present their findings.

The content and purpose of my presentation, titled “El proyecto NAIMES: La traducción generada por IA frente a los nombres propios”, were very similar to those of my presentation at the Hispanists Meeting. However, the different audience at CIFRE (with more international students) called for a more comprehensive talk covering all my language combinations (EN/DE/CS > ES). I also presented more technical details about the ParlaMint corpus as the project's source material.

CIFRE is a local event that complements the International Meeting of Romanists, organised by the same department. You can find CIFRE’s full programme and book of abstracts on this website
